Heavy duty carbon steel pneumatic actuators

Heavy Duty Carbon Steel Pneumatic Actuators from Omal, available exclusively from Tectra Automation are available as heavy-duty double acting (DA) carbon steel pneumatic actuators and heavy duty spring return (SR) pneumatic actuators. Supply media for both of these actuators are filtered compressed air, inert gases and technical gas.

Both the DA and SR heavy-duty carbon steel pneumatic actuators are ATEX and SIL 3 certified. This means that installation in potential explosive environments is allowed and customers are guaranteed the highest levels of functional safety. For the DA version, torque is directly proportional to the actuator’s air supply pressure, while for the SR the return torque is spring dependent only.

These pneumatic actuators work on the Scotch yoke system with rolling friction, which means it converts linear motion to a rotary system with no gears, which reduces friction between piston and shaft, reducing wear on the parts. Friction between these parts is reduced even more through the energised and self-lubricated strips used.

  • Standard temp range -20 to 80 °C / high temp range -20 to 150 °C
  • Air supply pressure from 3 bar up to 8.5 bar
  • 90° rotation angle with -5° - 95° stroke adjustment
  • Bronze bushes reduce wear
  • Actuator can be powered with gases
