Learn MoreHytec Engineering is your end-to-end hydraulic cylinder services provider. We partner with you to ensure timeous repairs and services. With 30 service support centres across Africa. We offer services including pressure testing of up to 700 bar.

We re-manufacture mobile and industrial cylinders to OEM standards, which includes a comprehensive failure report & analysis with 1 1-year to 6 000 hours warranty.
We have a large stockholding of specific mobile cylinders and offer clients agreements to help manage their stock. We also provide a temporary replacement cylinder while yours is in service.
We pressure-test cylinders up to 700 bar, perform comprehensive functional and leak checks, verify mid-stroke bypass operation, and supply full inspection and test reports with every completed cylinder.
Strip & Assess
Hydraulic cylinders are tagged, photographed, cleaned and stripped on receipt. Components cleaned/inspected. Shafts/barrels measured; reports available.
Buying
A wide selection of hydraulic cylinders is available for all popular earthmoving models. Our hydraulic cylinders are kept in consignment stock at various select branches.
Boring
We do line boring up to 300 mm diameters and 400 mm deep. Flange PCDs are drilled and tapped up to 1,5 m to restore the original geometry.
Hydraulic Cylinder Design
We design hydraulic cylinders to meet customer duty and industry standards. New components use approved drawings; material certifications are available on request.
Milling
CNC and conventional milling are selected by complexity/quantity to optimise precision & achieve tight tolerance stack-up control.
Turning
We use semi-CNC lathes for precision barrel & shaft production with 10m capacity, 900mm max swing at 6m. High-quality SG42 material is used to manufacture glands on mobile part cylinders.
Quality
We conduct precise dimensional checks per drawings with zero deviation tolerance. All QC data is captured in job files, accepted components are tagged, and reports are available on request.
Assembly
Large bore cylinders are assembled vertically for proper seal seating. Bolts torqued to OEM specifications using calibrated tools. Manifolds, pipes, and valves are fitted before testing to validate complete assemblies.
Testing
Pressure testing to a maximum of 70 MPa. Stroke and pressure recorded on Hydrotechniktest equipment; transducers calibrated annually. Fully compensated test reports with graphs supplied.
Painting
After testing, cylinders are cleaned using sponge blasted to SA2.5 with a 45-75 micron profile. High-tech engineering plate spec developed with Varthane (Varcol) provides optimal corrosion protection.
Packaging
After final inspection and sign-off, cylinders are wrapped in VCI plastic and crated or palletised for transport.
Delivery
Exchange cylinders available for popular earthmoving models with consignment stock at select branches. Enquire about maintenance schedules and seal kits for comprehensive service support.
