Piston Accumulators

Hytec Fluid Technology (HFT) supplies a range of Bosch Rexroth, HYDAC and Olaer piston accumulators with high working pressures of up to 350 bar and maximum diameters of 360 mm.

Type SK High Pressure

These HYDAC piston accumulators use nitrogen as the compressible medium with the piston acting as the gas proof screen.

Piston Accumulators

  • Piston accumulators from Hydac have a finely processed interior with a screw-in cover on the gas and fluid sides. They are easily adjusted for flexibility to customer-specific requirements and the piston position can be made visible and be used for switching functions in the hydraulic system. The selection of the volume is stepless.
  • Bosch Rexroth piston accumulators are always engineered to order, and are customer-specific. Standard diameters are 360 and 500 mm and are variable in length up to 5 500 mm. They operate in temperatures from -20° c to 60° C, have a maximum piston speed of 3 500 mm/sec and maximum pressure of 220 bar.
  • Olaer piston accumulators are designed to operate at extreme temperatures and any pressure ratio. With 5 to 200 bar pressure options in the range, they are available in carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex or super duplex steels and aluminium materials

Inspecting and testing your accumulators

HFT, a Bosch Rexroth Africa company, is authorised to provide certification of manufacture and the verification signature of an Approved Inspection Authority for accumulators. To facilitate this, HFT has an accumulator certification centre incorporating an accumulator test bench to help clients comply with regulations governing accumulator usage. Accumulators should be subjected to internal and external inspections and hydrostatic pressure tests.
