Hytec Engineering, a Bosch Rexroth Africa company, repairs and refurbishes all types of hydraulic cylinders to OEM specifications. It is Africa's only hydraulic cylinder company with a complete in-house offering that provides hydraulic cylinder repairs. They also conduct hydraulic cylinder inspections, design, grinding, testing, repairing, honing, and turning – all under one roof.
Whatever the size or condition of your hydraulic cylinder, we refurbish it to original OEM specifications. We design, manufacture, repair and test hydraulic cylinders in our 400 m² production headquarters in Johannesburg, and conduct hydraulic cylinder rebuilds when required. Our test rigs allow for hydraulic cylinder pressure testing for function and leakages up to 800 bar, as well as mid-stroke bypass testing.
All hydraulic cylinder repairs conform to SABS ISO 9001:2000 quality standards and are geared towards a fast turnaround and high-quality workmanship to ensure minimal disruption to your operations. For accurate measurements, our equipment for hydraulic cylinder repairs is calibrated by SANAS-accredited laboratories.

Your refurbished/repaired hydraulic cylinder undergoes stringent quality testing to verify its performance before leaving our factory.
Our smallest hydraulic cylinder test bench tests high flow and low-pressure, capable of 102 l/min at a maximum pressure of 10 MPA. High-pressure testing up to 55 MPA can also be achieved.

Hytec Engineering has an extensive stockholding of refurbished cylinders, which it supplies as a temporary replacement which drastically reduces your downtime when in need of hydraulic cylinder repairs or services.
The hydraulic cylinder exchange includes a repair programme. Hydraulic cylinders entered into this programme are cleaned, stripped and assessed before highly experienced engineers refurbish them to OEM standards. This service is available for damaged cylinders as well as fully-functioning units.
The Programme is a component replacement system that supplies refurbished units with a one-year warranty, subsequent to Hytec Engineering refurbishing returned equipment to factory specifications. This means making use of our Service Exchange Programme results in faster turnaround times on hydraulic cylinder repairs.

We’re the only Bosch Rexroth Certified Service Centre of Competence in Africa, ensuring 100% OEM-compliant hydraulic repairs through various ISO-accredited workshops.
We’ve invested in various state-of-the-art hydraulic repair machines, from cylinder and servo test benches. We utilise the Bosch Rexroth globally standardising test control system, Cadasys, to ensure all hydraulic repairs are compliant within OEM-specification.
The Bosch Rexroth Certified Service Centre of Competence (CSC-C) accreditation certifies that our service centre has the processes, infrastructure, qualification and management abilities to perform hydraulic repairs and service work to the quality standards specified by the Bosch Rexroth Service Centre Grades.
The accreditation audits the facility’s ability to conduct hydraulic repairs and services of pumps and motors, hydraulic valves, controls, mobile gears, standard and large hydraulic cylinders and electronics.
