  • Store it correctly: If you need to store your torque wrench for long periods, wind it down to the minimum scale setting, but not to zero. A fully loaded wrench stored for extended periods may weaken the spring over time, while a completely off-loaded spring may allow internal components to shift slightly and affect accuracy.
  • One click is enough: When a torque wrench clicks multiple times, it can apply additional torque to the bolt. A single click is enough for accurate results.
  • Check suitability for anticlockwise threads: Before using a mechanical torque wrench on an anticlockwise thread, check the product specifications to ensure tool suitability and to maintain torque control.
  • Convert torque units carefully: Converting torque units is a precise process. Torque unit converters and conversion calculators can help ensure the correct setting.
