Decades of experience

Industrial gearbox manufacturers ZF Industrieantriebe Witten GmbH incorporate decades of knowledge into the design and production of their swing drives, supplemented by a unique long-term experience in the field of dynamic simulation and testing. The company uses state-of-the-art calculation methods, like the Finite Element Method (FEM), to produce high quality gearboxes, dependable even under the harshest and most challenging conditions.

Gearbox design

The design (and manufacturing quality) of these swing drive gearboxes results in resilient, dependable, low-noise gearboxes of exceptional resilience, reliability, and low noise operation. ZF swing gearboxes GFB are easy to install and easy to maintain, which aids in achieving lower operating costs. They are delivered ready for installation, without oil filling and are painted with standard RAL colours. External flanges, shaft extensions and mounting faces have blank surfaces, and are protected against corrosion.

Collective load class

The maximum output torques T2max indicated under technical data relate to FEM Section 1 as well as DIN 15020. Standard classification categories are time category T5 and K-factor 1 corresponding to collective load class L2 and driver unit class M5. The max. reference output speed is 25 rpm.

Operating conditions

The standard range of swing gearboxes is designed for use at ambient temperatures of between –25° and 40° C, but all swing gearboxes can be designed to the client’s specific applications and requirements.

Motor adaptions

The gearboxes are designed for direct flange attachment of variable or fixed displacement hydraulic motors. They can be supplied with mounted motors and adaptations for various motor suppliers and types, and electric motors are also available.

Applications

Ideal for all heavy-duty equipment, the ZF transmission (ZF gearbox or gearbox swing drive) is also found in wheel loaders, skid steer loaders, excavator swings, large excavators, and other large, heavy-duty industrial equipment and applications.
