New Year hails in New Broom at Tectra Automation Port Elizabeth

Jason Saunders was appointed Branch Manager at Tectra Automation Port Elizabeth

Tectra Automation in Port Elizabeth has a new branch manager in the form of Jason Saunders, whose appointment became effective on 1 January 2017.

With more than a decade under his belt at Tectra Automation and a total of 19 years in the Eastern Cape hydraulics and automation industry, Jason joined the Hytec Group at Hytec (Afripower) in 2005 after first gaining seven years’ industry experience. Shortly after joining Hytec he moved to Tectra Automation as a Technical Sales Representative and worked his way up to Sales Manager before accepting his most recent appointment.

In addition to managing the Port Elizabeth branch and carrying out all functions pertaining thereto, Jason’s responsibilities include managing the sales team and assuming responsibility for a group of customers that contribute significantly to branch revenue.

Reporting directly to Kevin Lombard, General Manager at Tectra Automation, Jason, who has a diploma in Sales and Marketing, lists “successfully managing the Ford Puma Programme at Struandale Engine plant” as one of his career highlights. The Programme involved upgrading and expanding the customer’s machining and assembly capabilities, which resulted in the plant having an annual production capacity of 250 000 machined component kits.

Jason, who is married to Allison and has two children, lists “being a keen golfer and actively participating in Rock and Surf Angling” as his leisure activities. He humbly admits to recently being awarded provincial colours for the latter, and lists Thailand as his preferred holiday destination, having already visited the country twice and a third trip planned.

“I truly believe that the Hytec Group is leading the way in our fast-paced industry and consider myself fortunate to be part of such a dynamic and successful group,” he says. “Within my years of service the Group has allowed me to develop both my professional and personal skills, which have ultimately provided me with the promotion opportunities I have received over the years.”

“We congratulate Jason on this hard-earned appointment,” says Kevin Lombard, “and we are confident in his ability to continue leading the Tectra Automation Port Elizabeth branch to new heights.”

Tectra Automation in Port Elizabeth is the single source supplier of pneumatic, electric drive and control, linear and assembly technology and process valves in the Eastern Cape.
