Melvis Wachira, recently appointed Sales Manager, Bosch Rexroth Kenya, undergoing hands-on training while undergoing training on the Afrika Kommt! course in Germany.
Melvis Wachira, a top graduate from Germany's Afrika Kommt! initiative, joined Bosch Rexroth Kenya in September 2020, and after a short stint as Sales Manager, has now been promoted to Country Manager – Kenya, effective 1 December 2020.
As part of the Afrika Kommt! programme, Melvis, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, completed 12 months of training in Germany, including 8 months of intensive practical training at Bosch Rexroth’s various Germany-based offices and factories.
Afrika Kommt! is a German industry initiative for future leaders from Africa. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH implements the programme on behalf of the private sector initiative. It is supported by the German Federal Office and the German embassies in Africa and is aimed at assisting young African managers gain insight into German companies’ work processes and methods.
