Schmalz has developed the compact needle gripper for the secure handling of flexible, non-rigid components and for the secure handling of materials which are difficult to grip with a vacuum, such as composite textiles, fleece, filters, woven fiberglass or carbon- fiber, woven aramid, foam materials, etc. This innovation allows needles that are activated by compressed air and retracted by springs to securely handle the difficult load.
